God flooded the earth and sky with color, so the Church uses symbolic color in its worship. The liturgical colors have a principal role in Christian visual education. Green is the color of living things and of God’s creation. It symbolizes growth in the Holy Spirit. This is the color of the vestments and hangings for the Season After Pentecost, the current church season. The Season after Pentecost ends with the Christian New Year – Advent.
The Altar Guild serves God and his people by preparing the church for worship – maintaining and caring for the sacred vessels, altar linens, and vestments. Its members work without drawing any attention themselves, so that we can all focus on God each Sunday. The Altar Guild literally sets the table for God to minister to His people.
If you would like to be a part of this wonderful and sacred ministry, we would love for you to join us.
